By the time oil pressure allows the govenor to allow the engine to start the batteries are almost dead.I've heard of someone gearing up a pull wire to manually override.I've discovered i can push the shaft back inside the the small square box on the fuel pump but not from the cab.I have a chance to upgrade to a 707 engine. If anybody has a good understanding of how to remedy this i would love to hear from you.Post here or If you forward your phone # i could call you. Thanks .... Colin

Colin:

Read your post think I may have some insite for you I have a 1959 B61 with a 711 engine that has a air starter I used to have to charge the air up about three times before I could start the truck found out that with a woodward gov you have to reach about 6lbs of oil pressure before the gov would let fuel into the injectors I found that when cranking if I slowly depress the excelerator that the engine would start rather quicklee you might try that and see if it doesn't make a differance.

Goodluck let me know how you make out cagedman@aol.com
